Things to Do

Close to the hotel & venue:

- Explore the best of downtown Bainbridge Island and downtown Poulsbo. Both are a quick drive from the hotel! There are shops, galleries and walking paths around both.

- Go for a walk in the gorgeous Bloedel Reserve and explore the botanical gardens, and of course check out the beautiful views. This such a cool site and so beautifully cared for.

- Check out Fort Ward Park, a former military base turned public park. You can watch the Bremerton ferry go by!

- If you really want some Washington greenery, take a walk in the Grand Forest on Bainbridge Island. We'd rate this as an easy hike or a moderate walk.

- Battle Point Park is an awesome spot for kids and has a connecting trail to the Grand Forest hike.

- If you want to get out on the water, we recommend renting kayaks in Poulsbo to explore Liberty Bay on a nice day.

Close-ish to the hotel & venue:

- Check out Port Gamble, Port Ludlow and Port Townsend north of Poulsbo, all small and quaint and extremely cute. Be aware! If you cross the Hood Canal Bridge to reach Port Ludlow and Port Townsend, you may have to wait for the drawbridge on your way back which can take hours.

- The Dungeness Spit is a favorite spot and one we recommend to folks all the time for a great day trip. The spit stretches 5 miles into the Salish Sea and boasts a very impressive light house. Be aware that you may get caught on the other side of the drawbridge! Check traffic and drawbridges alerts if you plan to go the day of the wedding.

- Point No Point Lighthouse is another awesome find and no drawbridges are necessary! There is beautiful lighthouse and beaches to explore in this county park.

- Port Gamble Forest Heritage Park is another good one for an easy hike with beautiful scenery. Hiking and mountain bike trails abound!

- We also really recommend getting into downtown Seattle if time permits. There is so much to explore - the Pike Market, Lake Union, the Ballard Locks. And about one million food spots! If you are pressed for time we highly Toulouse Petit for fancy fare and The 45th Stop N Shop & Poke Bar for less fancy fare BUT the best damn poke the city has to offer.
